Darwin- City, Gardens, Market

Darwin is a wonderful city with so much to see, learn about and discover... it really is wonderful! We enjoyed three days here and experienced many wonderful activities, people and food! Yum! here are some of the highlights! The Northern territory of AU is our favorite so far.... it rocks- travel here! This is the Wharf district where we enjoyed dinner on the water. The place is full of ethnic food choices and local fish choices! Sheldon had local Barrimundi fish and chips and I had......
Thai red curry barrimundi with basil fresh rolls (including shrimp and chicken!) SOoooooooo gooooooood!
A view over Darwin Harbor!
our little friend we found in the Park while walking the loop through! He scurried up a tree when he saw us coming!
A view from the Parliament House (library) over the city to the harbor and Shel taking it all in! Darwin spent over 17 million on this building!
at the local cometary that dates back to the 1800's we found these two grumpy birds- they DID not want us to be there and made that very clear...." geeze, leave me alone can't you tell we are trying to rest in peace." ha ha ha
At the Botanical Gardens we saw many lovely plants and hundreds of Orchids.... not room for all the pictures but here is a pretty!

We also went to an outdoor sunset market that was grand! We saw a man who played FOUR Digeridoos, a fire thrower and a whip man (don't ask....rhythms with whips!) We also ate more great food- Megg had Indian and Shel had Vietnamese... and we BOTh had fresh squeezed tropical juice! Yum.... we bought gifts and looked around! We even bought our very own REAL digeridoo.... now we have to learn to play it i guess! It is beautiful- painted in Aboriginal animal designs! Awesome!

The Northern territory is the best yet... if you travel to AU come here! Never, Never land as the locals call it! :)
