The flight here was long---- long but OK considering the in flight movies, games and meals. Meggan slept a good 8 hours of the flight and Sheldon about 6. The meals were OK but the best part was definitely the landing over Sydney! Amazing to see it for the first time and all.
Well- after a 13.5 hour flight we are here! We arrived at the airport and about an hour and a half later we were through customs, baggage and the voto phone merchant (cell for emergencies) We called the hostel for our free ride to the Harbour City Backpackers and after waiting about another hour we were off into the city! (there was a little confusion on our part as to where to meet the shuttle!) We rode the shuttle straight to the hostel where we checked in, took showers and got on the phone with the guy who wants to sell us a van for the remainder of our trip! After meeting the car guy, Murray, we decided to buy! Whoa- lots done already today..... but wait! There's more! Pictures of van later....
We took a walk from our hostel downtown only to run smack dab into the harbor- which houses the Botanical Gardens, the harbor bridge and the Opera House! AMAZING! Pinch me- were actually in Australia!! WOW! No really, pinch me--- what a day from plane to hostel to buying a Mitsubishi Van to this.....
We saw many very cool birds, trees and even bats while walking. The bats were very cool- hundreds of them hanging everywhere!
Can't wait for tomorrow! :)
